Overview

Pickup Ball Pro ("the App") is a basketball stat tracking application. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Data You Provide

• Player names and nicknames — First and last names, and optional voice nicknames you enter for players in your leagues

• Player photos — Photos you take or select from your library for player identification

• Game statistics — Points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers, and shooting data you record during games

• League information — League names, locations, and per-league settings you configure

Data Collected Automatically

• Face embeddings — Mathematical representations of facial features generated on-device for player identification. These are numerical vectors, not images, and cannot be used to reconstruct a face.

• Voice data — When you use voice scoring, audio is processed by Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

How We Use Your Information

All data is used solely to provide the app's stat tracking functionality:

• Recording and displaying game statistics

• Identifying players via facial recognition

• Syncing data across devices (when cloud sync is enabled)

• Generating stats pages for sharing

Data Storage

Local Storage

By default, all data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage. Data remains on your device and is not accessible to us.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable cloud sync, your league data (player names, stats, and game history) is stored in Google Firebase Firestore. Player photos may be stored as base64-encoded data within Firestore documents. This data is associated with an anonymous authentication token — we do not collect your email, phone number, or Apple ID.

iCloud Backup (Automatic)

Player names, stats, and league information (without photos) are automatically backed up to Apple's iCloud via Key-Value storage. This uses your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is only shared when:

• You explicitly use the "Publish Stats" feature to generate a shareable HTML file

• You enable cloud sync to share league data across devices

• You use the share/export features to send data via AirDrop, email, or other methods you choose

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Apple iCloud — Automatic Key-Value backup of player names and stats (governed by Apple's privacy policy)

• Firebase Authentication — Anonymous sign-in for cloud sync (no personal identifiers collected)

• Firebase Firestore — Cloud database for optional data sync

• Apple Speech Framework — On-device speech recognition for voice scoring

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App is designed for general audiences tracking recreational basketball games.

Data Retention and Deletion

• Local data persists until you delete it via the app's reset feature or uninstall the app

• Cloud-synced data can be removed by disabling cloud sync for a league

• iCloud backup data is removed when you uninstall the app or disable iCloud for the app in iOS Settings

• Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

• To request deletion of cloud-stored data, contact us at the email below

Your Rights

You can:

• View all data stored by the app at any time (it's displayed in the app)

• Delete league data using the reset feature in Settings

• Delete all data by uninstalling the app

• Disable cloud sync at any time to stop cloud storage

Security

We use industry-standard security measures:

• All cloud communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption

• Firebase security rules restrict data access to authenticated users

• Face embeddings are stored as numerical data that cannot reconstruct facial images

• Voice audio is processed on-device and never transmitted

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
